11 Tips On Selecting Your Wedding Party's Attendants

Selecting Attendants Tips

Generally, the smaller and less formal the wedding and the wedding site, the smaller the wedding party should be. Keep the following 11 tips in mind when selecting your attendants.

-Ask the people you are closest to among friends and family members.

-Before choosing your attendants, check with your officiant about any religious restrictions regarding official witnesses.

-Pregnancy, disability, height, weight, and physical appearance should have no bearing on a person's inclusion or exclusion.

-Plan for one usher for every fifty guests.

-Etiquette on longer requires a one-to-one ratio of ushers to bridesmaids.

-Can not decide? it is perfectly acceptable to choose two maids of honor, two best man, male bridal attendants, female groom attendants, and even to have no attendants at all.

-Remember the financial obligations involved in being an attendant, from travel expenses to clothing. For a close friend, you may even make a private arrangement to foot some or all of the bill.

-Keep in mind that there are other ways of involving and honoring important relatives and friends; they may serve as readers, guestbook attendants, or informal photo coordinators.

-It is good for family unity to include the bride's brothers and the groom's sisters, but it is not mandatory.

-If you are planning a destination wedding, make this clear in your initial invitation to be in the wedding party.

-Ask anyone you want to include as early as possible.

How To Choose The Blusher Veil For Brides

Blusher Veil For Brides Descriptions

A shoulder-length layer of the blusher veil for brides that is worn over the face. Typically combined with other lengths and used for both formal and semi-formal weddings. Brides can also combine veils - a single layer elbow with a cathedral length veil and use the elbow length as the blusher.

How To Choose The Blusher Veil For Brides

Things to Consider When Selecting The Blusher Veil For Brides:

  • Your height
  • The Length of your Dress
  • Detailing of Your Dress
  1. If you are under 5'4" you should select an elbow length veil (30” long). If you are over 5'7" you should select a fingertip veil (36” long). If you are in between those heights, then you can probably go with either length -- it just depends on whether you prefer a short length (elbow) or longer length (fingertip).
  2. You should consider where on your head you will be wearing your veil. If you are wearing it towards the back of your head, the veil will be longer.
  3. You should consider the detailing (on the back on the back of your dress) and the overall design of your dress. Your veil length should be cut just above or below any focal point on your dress. Don’t choose a veil length that ends right where your bodice begins because it cuts you in half visually (something just above or just below). If you have a sharply defined waistline, don't choose a veil that ends right at the waistline – something slightly above or below it.
  4. We also suggest taking a tape measure and measure the 30 or 36” and see where the different length veils will fall on you.

How To Make Bridal Centerpiece

How to make bridal centerpiece
Wedding centerpieces are a focal point of any wedding reception decor. As such, its important to make sure your centerpieces are attractive, not distracting. Here are a few tips on how to make bridal centerpiece that live up their name.

If you want to keep things really simple you may choose to simply float flowers and candles in crystal bowls. But it does not mean you can’t have many other choices that are also easy. You can even make them yourself and they don’t have to cost the sun and the moon.

Fruity Centerpieces

Fruits are not only easily available but add the right amount of color. If you are using citrus fruits your tables will smell divine. Slice up lemons and oranges in thin slices. Insert some florists' foam into a transparent vase and start to arrange the slices on the sides to show off the sliced sections. Insert the foam a little into the vase so that the slices stay in place. Then simply add your flowers and you are done. Add some citrus themed wedding favors to your table and the decor will be stunning.

If you are a winter bride and planning your wedding in the evening time indoors then, use a large mirror and seat it flat on your tables. On the mirror you can place a colorful arrangement of flowers and fruits and then on the corners, a little away from the arrangement place tea lights. The arrangement will reflect in the mirror and so will the candles, doubling your centerpiece, looking simple but exceptional.

If you want to use candles, you could core the apple first, Core the apple all the way through. Insert pillar candles in fall colors (orange, gold, sage and burgundy). You could create a cluster of the apples on a plate, or line them up in a row on a long silver tray. You can obtain vines of fall flowers or leaves at the dollar store which you could intertwine throughout the apples.
You could also scoop out a portion of the apples and insert a tea light into them. Make sure you level off the bottom by slicing a piece off to keep them from rolling over. If you don’t want them to brown, touch them up with a bit of lemon juice and they will stay fresh longer.

Floral and Veggie Centerpieces

Perfect for Spring wedding ceremonies, herbal weddings or even a classic theme. Make a floral topiary with fresh or silk flowers. Take ready-made topiary forms and embellish them with fresh or silk flowers. You don’t have to stick to just flowers here. You can use pine cones, fruit slices and even nuts in your topiary to add interest. If you want to cut down on the size of the topiary go in for tea cup topiaries. Use a simple tea cup and make your topiary within it. They are ideal for Victorian or English theme weddings.

If you want to dress your Parisian or English parties with those fashionable hats then that might not be so difficult to achieve. Get sturdy straw hats and attach real or fake flowers to them with florists wire . Present these hats on busts and decorate with sheer ribbons and tulle.
Pumpkins are just the thing for your harvest tables. Make a pumpkin luminary for your wedding. Scoop out all the contents of the pumpkin and cut heart shapes into the sides. Place a candle within and decorate around it with waxed fall leaves, pine cones colored gold, nuts and even acorn caps.

Beach Themed Centerpieces

Beach weddings are so fun and you can make some truly beautiful beach-themed centerpieces to decorate your tables. Colored sand is easily available at craft stores, or add color to ordinary sand with water and a few drops of food coloring. Take some interesting bottles and fill in these with different colors of sand to group together or even make layers of different colors in a single bottle. Simple and effective. Insert a taper on the top or even put in one layer of glittered sand.
Seashell candles are really easy to make and you can use them on their own or combine them with beach wedding favors. Melt some beeswax into a shell and insert a wick into it and you’re done. If you think these won't last as long then take a tea light and sit it into a shell filled with sand for balance. However if a tea light does not fit snugly it will look odd so you could add camouflage with other smaller shells. Fill clear glass bowls with water tinted blue with food coloring. Float some plastic fish into this.

In summary, centerpieces don’t have to be a very complex affair as we have seen. These are just some things you can do. Let your imagination run wild to come up with truly unique pieces to adorn your tables.

Thank You Notes For Wedding Gifts - How Long?

Tips On Thank You Notes For Wedding Gifts - How Long?

As soon as you return from your honeymoon and settle down into some kind of a routine, set a goal of writing three or four thank you notes evey day, with the ultimate goal of having them all written no later than six weeks after the wedding. (No, you can not get by with thanking people verbally, and no, you do not have one year to write the thank you notes.)

It's acceptable to write one thank you note for a group gift - you do not need to write a separate thank you note to each member of the group.

The thanks must always be personlized and written by hand. Here is sample wording:

Dear Aunt Elaine,

Thank you for coming to our wedding. Your presence made our day extra special.

Richard and I want to thank you for your thoughtful gift. We love the breadmaker. In fact, we make fresh bread several times a week. I think Richard is getting spiled. Thank you so much.

Your loving nice,

Carol

If the gift was a cash gift, it is nice to thank the giver for the item you purchased, or plan to purchase, with the money. It is never acceptable to let someone else help you out by writing your thank you's for you. You would be surprised how many people recognize your mom's or your sister's handwriting!

Thank you notes for wedding gifts how long

Wedding Day By The Beegees

Wedding Day By The Beegees Lyrics

We both acknowledge what we came here for

We take each other and walk through the open door

From the first time that I saw you

To the way you look tonight

I was shaken by your spiritI was blinded by your light

And the world that I used to see is gone without a trace

Replaced by your eyes and the smile upon your face

And I will not turn away'Cause you might disappear

I was haunted by your heart

And I felt that you were here

And funny when the time is right

When lightning strikes

You're not aloneBaby, I will pray for you my whole life through

This dayWe'll be togetherHusband and wife

Now and forever

The rest of our lives

Well, take me to Heaven

Take me tonight

There is nothing words can say

On this our wedding day

Oh, now is the hour, now is the sowing of the seed

I will take tomorrowI will lay it at your feet

And the two of us escape from the sadness of the world

From the thunder and the darkness

From the hunger and the hurt

You know I will remember well the mission bell

That rings your name

And baby there could never be

A memory like youWe'll be together

Husband and wife

Now and forever

Lovers for life

Well, take me to Heaven

Take me tonight

There is nothing words can say

On this our wedding day

This is my pledge to you I will follow through to the end

And we will find another plane

We'll be home again

And tonight I'm going to find true love, true love

We'll be togetherHusband and wife

Now and foreverLovers for life

Well, take me to HeavenTake me tonight

There is nothing words can say

On this our wedding day

This our wedding day
